I'm slighty doubtful of this competition, I too had a phonecall (last week) to say I had won 4 tickets but declined them as it sounded abit iffy on the phone.
My mum has just rang to say she has just had a call to say she has won 4 tickets... This was a national competition and the chances of two winners in the same town (a small town at that) is unlikely
If you do go and it turns out fine then brilliant but the email requests the following information about your party...
You have won 4 weekend passes for you and 3 friends (children under 12 do not use up one of the passes)when you have decided who is going to be coming along with you to the event please e.mail us at info@sfxweekender.com or contact me on my direct line, with the names .d.o.b, and contact information. this is for health and safety reasons ONLY, this is a requirement of the local council authority in case of emergency, and no details will be passed on.0 -

It's because they don't send tickets - it's an eticket system and they ask for photo i.d at the event to stop people buying and selling tickets etc.. so names, d.o.b and email are for that. Not really comping any more as too ill - but hoping to win £1000+ in 2017 in cash prizes - watch this space!0 -

It maybe a national competition but would many be tempted from far away as travel and accomodation is not provided? Anyone keen to go would probably have booked early so they could get cheaper deals.
You mum may have been offered yours as you returned them, there were only 27 thanks on the comp posting and 30 prizes on offer.0 -
Ive just had a phone call for winning 4 of these also0
-
i had phone call this evening as well
guy was trying to get me to book accomadation but luckily i have a friend nearby so its easy for me
oh + dd are well pleased - they love all that
i have had email conf. just got to let them now approx ages of those going - only for elf and safety for the council
he also said i could pass them on if i couldnt go
on blockbuster fb comp - it did say 100 tickets up for grabs0 -
I got the same phone call at about 8 o'clock saying that I had won 4 Friday and Saturday admission tickets for the SFX weekender 'worth' £360. The catch is there is no accommodation included which has been offered at a cost of £60 per person - based on 4 sharing a 1 bed chalet = £240. The cost of a chalet on their website (click here) for 4 people is £396 including the admission tickets (£360) so you would think that you could pay the difference of £36 for the weekends accommodation.
I have been on weekenders before but have only paid £60-£80 for a chalet for the weekend. I was fully aware that it would be very basic accommodation at that price, but we still had a great weekend. (its priced to get you in and hopefully you'll be spending in the club - the same as £9.50 Sun holidays) If its £240 for the same basic accommodation that represents very poor value, you could have a weekend stay in some very nice hotels with meals for a lot less than that amount.
I found a blog by another 'winner' who recently tried to tackle the promoters over this issue that you can read here.
I'd be interested to hear the thoughts of anyone else that has 'won' tickets to this event or has previously been.0 -
If anyone wants mine pm me and i'll email it over - can't go as would cost £157 trainfare just for me and partner to get there and back then plus the accomodation and food etc.. too expensive.
Oh well. Not really comping any more as too ill - but hoping to win £1000+ in 2017 in cash prizes - watch this space!0 -

Prize was clearly (to me and judging by the tiny number of entries through mse, most others as well) just day tickets, there was no requirement to take their accommodation to be able use the tickets so the win was exactly as stated not and as the other "winner" liked to assume part of some inclusive package.
As I already posted--It maybe a national competition but would many be tempted from far away as travel and accomodation is not provided? Anyone keen to go would probably have booked early so they could get cheaper deals.

That may be your opinion, but I think if you have another look at my blog then you'll see that the Advertising Standards Agency found the Terms & Conditions to be far too ambiguous, they raised this point with the organisers and made them promise to make the rules state that accommodation is not included if they run similar competitions in future.
I'm doubting that you read the three blog posts, as they clearly point out that the prize value quoted in phone calls is greater than the value of the cheapest package that includes accommodation. You say "prize was clearly", the ASA say "prize wasn't clear enough". No offence, but I'll take their decision over yours. I know of 4 competitions that offered "100 sets of tickets", that's 1600 possible "freebies" - over half of the total accommodation. Does it seem sensible to you that they'd offer more than 50% of their tickets for free if they didn't have a way to guarantee that all 1600 would give them a load of cash - should they all accept. Or maybe you missed the point where I revealed that £240 (what they want from each winning party) is actually more expensive than the cost of a family of 5 staying in the same chalet a week later? Pontin's rent out the entire resort to SFX, at less than the price they charge tourists. Same with All Tomorrow's Parties booking the Minehead Butlin's for their weekend festivals. The only people caring how many rooms are empty will be SFX, they've paid for them all already.
Lots of love, hugs n' kisses,
Gill0
