Terminal 4

Due to land on terminal 4 in two weeks time. Hope the weather will improve by then. Please does anybody know how easy it is to go from arrival to departure so that somebody can pick me up without parking? Thanks

Not sure if you are very brave or very silly - get caught and you will get a fine. The car park is only £2.50, the fine will be far more. Is it really worth the hassle?
    Gone ... or have I?

Thanks, it was for convenience really. The carpark is only 2.50 for half an hour but it is a hassle to look for parking if you are not familiar with terminal 4.

i think it's just a case of going 1 level up in the lift, and you are at departures level.

So the plane is going to be on time, you know exactly how long it takes to get luggage and to pass thru customs ?? Pick up is always a nightmare , use the carparks.

What fine? Only traffic wardens and police can give you tickets for parking in the wrong place. Otherwise what you receive is an INVOICE.

Wallbash, whilst i dont use Heathrow, when i pick people up from airport, i usually find somewhere to park close by the airport, and then ask the people who i am picking up to call me when they have passed through customs, and are in the arrivals hall. with this, i can set off and (in the case of LBA) use the free 10 mins parking to get into the car park, ensure my friend is there to pick up, and exit within the same 10 mins free of charge.

If you picked up from .. Luton ?? for example would agree with you but Heathrow is the exception ,
Can anyone think of a place you can ( for free) for a reasonable amount of time within ten mins of Heathrow, the place is geared for easy access to the M40/M25 , the local roads are duel carriageways.
I suppose you could pick a pub ( and consume soft drinks ) in Hays or even Uxbridge .

use the free 10 mins parking to get into the car park

Is that a possibility at Heathrow.?

My problem is an elderly mother , who uses the Nat Express bus to travel to and from Devon from the coach park at terminal 3 . She wont have a Mobil phone . So I have to be there and be prepared to wait.

Given the security situation I would suspect that the police would be involved in a case of an illegally parked car - in a bad case it will be hauled away on the assumption it's a potential bomb.

I would have hoped they land on the runway or you won't need picked up (well maybe by rescue crew)
