Have had no water since i got up at 8am on Christmas morning. There was a leak in the close but nobody else in the close has been affected.I phoned them and they eventually got back to me at 8-30 last night and said as we had been waiting quite a while and are elderly (we are in our 70s )we would have priority. but we are still waiting. We are having to trail around the neighbours for water.
Don't think it's frozen pipes, and i think it's to much of a coincidence that they have been working in the close, but untill i'm sure whos fault it is i can't call a plumber as it will cost the earth on bank holiday.
If we are priority God help anybody else.
Why are these people never ready for any emergency, quite happy to take our money all year but don't want to know when you need them
What a lovely Christmas we have had, especially as we had no heating either till last night. I didn't know if we could use it with having a combi boiler till I got so cold I thought I was going into hypothermia and asked on here and some kind person told me it was OK. We at least are warm now

I have checked to see if they are frozen and as far as i can see they are not. We have worked repeatedly with a hair dryer just in case but the bathroom, where the inlet is is very warm, so I am doubtful if it is that. When i did get through to a person at united utilities i was told they would let me know if it was their fault so i could make arrangements if it was our responsibility. Still waiting.
They had been working in the close, to much of a coincidence that i have no water.

We had no water on Christmas Day due to a burst main in the next village not much fun especially if you have no heat either..hope it gets sorted soon but it does sound like it's your responsibilty not the utility company.

Have had a plumber out as I am getting nowhere with UU. No sign of frost or damage to my pipes , so it is up to them when they were working in the close.

Have you checked to make sure your main stop tap has not been turned off ? Not sure why it would happen but if it is in the street it might have happened by mistake.
I am sorry to say that one household who could well be the problem ( rather then anything they did or can fix) is not going to be the number one priority no matter what they say on the phone. They are going to be busy looking into main bursts and whole estates not having water etc As you are the only one without water it does sound like there is something wrong your end, maybe the communication pipe is frozen ?

They have been doing work on a leak down the road, but just seem to have patched it up and gone away to come back another day. We think they have done something to our supply but nobody else is affected. The plumber went into the pipe outside and said it's fine.

So if the plumber has gone out and said the pipes to your house are fine and no one else in your close is affected it really does seem that its something to do with you..

you do realise that taking a hair dryer to the pipes you can see is not only dangerous but also doesnt cover the pipes you cant see.

United utilities themselves told me to do that

Water back on. Nobody came out so UU must have done something at their end.
