If you are on a standard tariff you are paying 30% too much for your gas.
With energy smart from British Gas you pay only for what you have used each month. You are required to submit monthly readings online or via mobile and agree to paperless billing.
Energy Smart is NOT available on the cheapest British Gas tarriffs.
IMO its not a good idea for gas as the costs are not spread evenly over the year.
Good for electric as bills are fairly level.
I'm on Websaver 8 Gas, and Click Energy 6 with EnergySmart ATMThat gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Why not check out who the cheapest supplier would be in your area & which is the most cost effective tariff for you by using one of the comparisson sites? I tend to do this each year or 2 & manage to keep my bills as low as I feel I possibly can by switching providers when they become too pricey compared to the competition. For the last 2 years I've also managed to get cashback for switching too, which has brought the cost of my bills down a bit more.
I recently switched to Eon, from British Gas as they seemed to be much more competitive & during this cold spell my house has been nice & warm. I've just checked how much gas has cost me to date with having the heating on a lot more during the past 2.5 months & I'm pleasantly surprised to find that it has averaged out at £2.03p per day. I could have gone with a supplier a bit more competitive than Eon, but their customer service ratings were not as good & I'd prefer to pay a bit more in an effort to try to have good customer service should I ever encounter a problem. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0
