How to make money from videos?

I have found everything possible on MSE except "how to make money from videos?". i am sure our community would benefit from this. there are supposed to be sites that pay but are they legit and will they really pay? thats the real question and one i think martin can answer easily. thanks in advance.

I think you can in some cases make money from youtube, you can get a share of the advertising revenue, haven't tried it myself
