URGENT...NEW Laptop

:mad::mad: aargh......new laptop for student (going back to uni 2moz)
has windows 7 already installed. Trying to install office 2007 but won't let me...keeps telling me I have to be in administrator to install this
No idea how to be administrator or why it just won't install it.
Has to install office as otherwise cannot use at Uni..
Can anyone help PLEASE :eek:

  • Either change your account to administrator in control panel,users,change your account type, or right click the setup or install program and choose run as administrator.
  • THANKS :beer: already tried that...still won't install
  • If its saying you need to be a admin to install either you are using a acount that is a standard user, or if there is only one account on the system you have a virus/infection. If its brand new and hasn't been used much or has nothing on it the best advice is to restore back to factory settings.

    When i got my laptop my husband bought an office programme especially for use with windows 7-could it be your programme is incompatable?

  • no office 2007 is fine on Windows XP/Vista/7

    Thanks-unfortunately the office programme i have has not got publisher, can i purchase it as a stand alone product?

  • A temporary solution would be use hotmail to create word, excel, powerpoint etc. (microsoft)

    Or could try openoffice but a bit more fiddlier with compatability etc.

    How are you trying to install it? From a file?

    If so, right click the file and Run As Administrator
