I have been mistakenly credited £993.XX on a credit card on 24th November. What do I do?

I would ring and tell them.
They have 6 years to reclaim it and most likely someone will notice it's gone missing and you'll have to pay it back at some point anyway.
Better to get rid of it now than have a claim later on when the monye is gone.

This has the potential to be a pain. For instance, if it results in you paying less than you otherwise would (e.g. if they don't take a direct debit because you're in credit) you could end up paying more interest.

I would ignore it and make your payment as you usually would assuming it's going to dissappear.
If this will affect a direct debit then make a manual payment.
  • My balance is zero and I manually pay it off every month.

Keep doing so and ignore the credit.
That way you will be fine.

I suspect someone has typed in a wrong digit on BACS payment.

    1) continue to make whatever payments you would have made
    2) inform them of the error by some verifiable means (eg secure message, recorded delivery letter).
Failing to inform them, and effectively "keeping" the money in your account, could be interpreted as theft (or theft by finding); and although it's extremely unlikely that PC Plod would knock on your door, it's simplest to be honest and sort it out as early as possible.
