Hi everyone,
*SORRT TO CHANGE SOME CRITERIA - But I am also looking for a laptop with capabilities to play games with the same sort of Spec as Call Of Duty Modern Warefare 2" Thanks Again.*
I am looking for the best laptop deal out there in the sales!! Need To Buy Today!!
Setting the Price Limit at: £500
I am looking for something with a decent battery life and reasonably powerful but I do not require anything for extreme video editing etc.
One I have seen so far: comet.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/p/Laptops/buy-ACER-ASPIRE-5742-I3-Laptop/688410
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks,
George

Looks fine to me.
Really depends what you'll use it for.
If its literally JUST word processing, spreadsheets,(etc) internet and email, you cn get systems that are cheaper without windows, and a linux distribution installed. Although it can be a pain if you want to install any other software thats not got a linux version.
With regards to battery life.. i think you'd be pleasently surprised at how many power outlets there are in this world. if you're ever in situation where you're using the computer for longer than an hour, generally you'll be sat down indoors. and there will be a plug socket nearby.
battery life also depends on what you use it for.. playing a DVD with the brightness turned up, and wifi/bluetooth on will use LOADS more battery that dim screen, word document only.
Intel i3 is good. can handle most of what will be thrown at a laptop today. 4GB RAM - Thats all i have in my gaming machine. Also £300 off. maybe sepnd the surplus on an eternal HDD. 250GB is a fair bit when it comes to pictures and documents, but a 1.5hr film is about 600mb (0.6gig) and they can mount up. Also windows wil already be hogging 12-16GB of that. dont even get me started on games... World of Warcraft takes up nearly 50GB on my brothers machine, and a lot of other games nowadays you'll be looking at about a Gig each. That being said, 250GB will last a fair while in day to day usage.
Also, its nice to have a backup.Credit card: [STRIKE]£2533.30[/STRIKE] £0 as of July '16!Overdraft: [STRIKE]£1700[/STRIKE]£0 as of July '16!Aim:Save for a working trip to New Zealand leaving late 2016/ early 2017!0 -
Thankyou very much for your reply! I don't suppose anyone would have any idea about the graphics and what they can handle? Also has anyone bought one of these machines and has feedback??
Thanks,
