Capital One - Excessive searches on credit record

Absolutely furious!

Capital One carried out an excessive amount of searches on my credit record and I have asked them on numerous occasions to have them removed but they're all still there.

Who do I complain to about this?

A mad face for every search

Are they all 'credit card' searches, or are some classed as 'ID Verification' (or the like) enquiries?

Only the former will be detrimental to your credit file, as the latter are not seen by other lenders when searching your file for credit purposes.

I didn't even know cerdit card searches were bad for your record!!

Thankfully I've only ever done a couple (when I was looking to change mine over to one with a better APR). I'll not be doing any more now :p

One of the major drawbacks to card tarting...which I found out to my annoyance. All the card suppliers are catching on to people who take advantage of their offers and I've found that they are now knocking me back.

I always cancel cards once the offer has expired so it can't be due to having numerous cards.
