What cable do I need?

Hi im looking to connect my laptop to the TV and was wondering what cable i would need. My laptop is an Acer 5732Z and the Tv is a Sony Bravia.

I would use VGA, But you would need something else to output sound, I.e speakers laptop or external speakers.

I was in a similar quandary when choosing cables to connect my laptop and TV. The general consensus I found was gold connectors aren't worth it and in fact silver conducts better than gold. VGA cables are better than S-Video. Don't buy anything longer than you need.

In the end I choose the following and I must say they're as good as the reviews - they're perfect.

I appreciate it looks like I'm going back on my gold comment but after reading the reviews for both cables I was happy to pick these

will the above cables work as the Sony Tv is HD ready however the laptop does not have a port for this? Am confused
