SWALEC Price increase

Bl$$dy typical. Three days after I switch suppliers (for the first time), SWALEC put their prices up by 6.7% for electricity, and 9.1% for gas. (Source - MoneyAM).

Still a significant saving over original suppliers, and I suppose I can always switch again, but annoying, nonetheless.

Not until July, it would appear from here. Unusual that they are announcing so far in advance if that is the case.

Also the comparison sites won't update till june then too.

Can anyone please confirm when SWALEC price increase is effective from. According to their web site they quote prices as from 24 May 2005 suggesting this was their last increase date and hopefully there will not be another for sometime.

I am thinking of switching to SWALEC as current supplier EDF Energy have just increased my prices by 19% from 1st June 2005.

I believe that the price increase was announced as follows:

March 1st - for existing customers
April - for new customers
July 1st - for prepayment customers

It is the same as Southern electric as they are part of the same company, Scottish and Southern
