Nationwide CC DD Error

Just noticed after months of DD being taken out by Nationwide CC, this month they have only taken a third of the Min payment Direct Debit amount, strange!! this has never happened to me on any other CC or account for that matter. Has this ever happened to anyone else, does this count as a late payment as the Min amount has now not been paid? Can't figure this one out! will probably give em a call.
My curent account is the account where the DD comes out of and is well funded at present. Will be very  if they have made a mistake and it goes against my credit file, as I've never missed a payment on anything.

Just found out why!! Bought something a few weeks ago, but was not needed so got a refund acouple of weeks ago. The refunded amount was then taken from my DD min payment amount for that month, and the difference of the Min payment which I owed (minus the refunded amount) was taken from my account.
This gives me an idea, if any one is struggling paying the min, they could say buy a item, then get it refunded and there min payment would be less or even covered! didn't think it worked like that, but it has on my CC account with Nationwide.0 -
I believe this is only the case if the item was bought before the billing date and refunded after the billing date.dennyboy wrote:This gives me an idea, if any one is struggling paying the min, they could say buy a item, then get it refunded and there min payment would be less or even covered! didn't think it worked like that, but it has on my CC account with Nationwide.0 -
Just wondering how much the min payment is?0

Yes, for most (if not all) card issuers a refund does not count as a payment but of cause if you bought an item and had a refund the amount that it was continbuting to your minimum payment would be deducted (not the total price of the item)All posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers

Something similar has happened to me with egg this month, I have a fixed payment of £50 set-up to be taked by DD on the 29th of each month, and its been this way for the last 6 months, but for some reason they have only taken the minimum payment of £14.39 this month. I was going to query this with them but rather than mess about I've just manually paid in another £50 and will see what happens next month.0
