I'm just curious, is there anyone at all out there who will be viewing a house, making an offer, anything buying/selling related between Christmas and New Year?

I doubt many people would. The ones that do are probally just checking what you had for christmas so they can come back later and pinch it.0

I have a house up for sale but do not expect any interest over the holiday period:(. In fact I do not expect much interest until the weather improves or nearer to Easter time:eek:To Dare is To Do:beer:0

I thought the same as wearside when my house was on the market this time last year but I was wrong. There were a couple of viewings with snow on the ground, one even resulting in an offer. Perhaps it is the time of year when people are off work and can get out together. One never knows!0

I probably would be if I wasn't away.0

My DD is waiting for a report from the surveyor and once that arrives she will be revising the offer or proceeding depending on the result so if it comes between Christmas an New year she might be doing something house buying reated.
She wants to go out looking at stuff for the houe but I keep sayng wait in case it all falls through, the more stuff you find the bigger the disappointment..everything crossed that it goes OK.0 -
Yes, I'm still looking. Difficult to actually get a viewing though as the EA I rang said he can't do any accompanied viewings till 5th January.0

Been out today doing the "what does it look like in real life" drive-bys for a number of houses but probably won't phone EAs until after new years to try and get viewings for the ones we liked.
Won't be viewing the one we couldn't even get to coz of the snow though - don't wanna find myself trapped at home every winter and can't afford to buy a 4x4 and a house!0 -
I'm still doing my searches on Rightmove and if anything comes up that I like I will definitly book a viewing between Christmas and new year as I'm off work so it's an ideal time for me. Bit not many people are putting their houses up for sale at this time of year so I probably won't see anything new until January.0

I am planning to do a second viewing and a revised offer on a house we saw a while back in the hope I can close the deal, on Wednesday.
That is if a) the seller can accommodate the viewing and b) if the EA can too.

Not looking till well after spring. Pointless us first time buyers looking till sellers realise prices are still falling. I'm sure sellers are holding out for a spring bounce and thus it will be harder to talk their price down at this point.;):exclamatiScams - Shared Equity, Shared Ownership, Newbuy, Firstbuy and Help to Buy.
