I would just like to point out that a lot of the information in the first post is now incorrect and this thread should be deleted. The funding rules have changed and now the condition of residency is that you must have lived in the UK or an EEA country for 3 years prior to the start of the course and courses are available whether employed or unemployed. You also must be 19+ as courses are SFA funded.0

Hi!
Just successfully completed the ITQ Essential IT Skills L2 course, and am wondering whether to do the Bus & Admin course. I note there are 6 modules so alot less time to complete each in comparision with the IT course. Does anyone have any comments?
NB I completed the IT course using public library internet access and using my laptop at home.Free thinker.:cool:0 -

It's been a while since this thread has been updated so I thought it was worth a bump, for anyone who hasn't seen it.
FutureLearn in particular has developed quite a lot recently, and offers a wide variety of courses. It's not going to replace anything like a degree course but there is some fascinating stuff and it includes forum discussions and some courses include tutor feedback. Most of them have a certificate available but you pay for that - the course itself and all the content is free.
