bosch dishwasher not heating up.

My husband say's its likely the elemant or thermostat needs replacing, i just wanted to check if thats going to be worth while, or if replacemant is the better option.
The dishwasher is about 4 yrs old.

Hubby ( domestic appliance engineer) says "if its a push button programmer ( ie not a mechanical turning knob/dial) it will be the heating tracks on the timer circuit board, repair costs :- board can be repaired, just involves labour costs! Tracks on board are very easy to solder!" HOPE THIS HELPS!0
