Hi
Have been looking at both of these fryers Actifry and Airfryer.
I really can't make up my mind on which would be best so if anyone has one of these or even better has tried both could tell me which one give the best results I would be very grateful.

The Tefal actifry is absolutely useless... takes ages to cook anything and breaks food up.

Mine went straight on freecycle and even then I struggled to get rid of it.

As the last poster says, check out the reviews and in my opinion save your money.

The airfryer on the other hand I cannot comment on as I dont have one.

My mum, likes her Tefal actifry, although only uses occasionally. Thinking about getting one, but there isn't much I fry at the minute. If I had one though, I would seriously look into HM chicken nuggets, etc.
  • I love our actifry. It does take a little longer to cook things in but they taste fantastic. (Smiley faces are never the same again once you have had them out of an actifry lol) HTH

We've had the same dilema yesterday and done some research to see the difference. Well, basically, the Phillips one is just a small fan oven. It will save you a bit of time and energy compared to an oven but you won't get chips.
You need oil to get chips.

edit, update - first portion of HM chips done today and they are gorgeous (it's good to be able to have HM chips again (haven't had a fryer since we've had kids)).

There have been other threads on the Tefal Actifry which you can find on a search. It seems they are like Marmite - you either love 'em or hate 'em. I have been using mine for a year now about once per week and I love it. Fresh potato chips are done to a turn. Some varieties of potato do break if the chips are too long or thin, but they are still delicious. They don't really fry the chips as such. The chips are rotated under a heat source and the oil coats them.
Still virtually alcohol free since 4/1/15. (10 Xmas/ New Year/Birthday drinks)
