Xbox power lead question

Well, I managed to repair my grandsons Xbox, dismantled, unglued and cleaned the laser and mirror plus fitted a new tray belt. Anyway I have now got a couple more to do, but one came without a power lead, it is a 2006 one. The problem is that the power lead I have, 2007 model, will not plug in! There is a piece of plastic sticking out of the socket in the back of the machine. So can I just break it off? The plug seems otherwise identical.

No. A later one will likely to be fried by the current drain of the earlier console. There was a complete board and component re-design which resulted in less power needed.0

Try ebay eg http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Xbox-360-Power-Supply-150w-AC-Adapter-Cheap-USED-/160518754937?pt=UK_VideoGames_VideoGameAccessories_VideoGameAccessories_JN&hash=item255fa9d279
Might be worth asking vendor advice.0 -
Thanks, I need the early 203w one. Will check out Ebay.0
