Hi
A friend of mine has recently bought a Humax Foxsat HDR and he wants to connect it to the internet to get access to the BBC iPlayer. He currently has an ADSL wired modem. He is unable to get a cable from the modem to the Foxsat box so I was wondering what the options are for wireless access.
This seems to be one option:

But I'm confused about a proper wireless option. If he buys a wirless router what will he need to plug into the back of the Foxsat box?
Thanks in advance.

The ADSL wired modem - does it have 4 ports at the back? If so, you can plug one of the above plugs into it, the other into the Foxsat. This allows the data to travel through your mains, and short of actually having the Foxsat beside the modem, is the best solution. If he were to buy a wireless modem, he would need to buy what I believe is called a wireless extender, looks like a small wireless modem, but may just have a LAN port, which you would wire into the Humax. Unless you have a need to go wireless for other reasons though, the Solwise plugs above are probably cheaper and less hassle.0

Hi
I have powerline from my router feeding a switch which connects up an XBox 360, the same Humax PVR and a Bluray player. I can stream highest quality on iPlayer whilst streaming HD to the xbox. If the wiring is ok in the house and the broadband is fast enough at source (mine is around 16mbps although I suspect 8 would be just as good) it should be absolutely fine.

I found that Wifi was no good and I now use home plugs to connect my router to X Box, Bluray and just added a Humax HDR T2 (freeview).
PS: My Humax is connected to internet but I am struggling to connect to my PC media player, any suggestions."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Thanks to all who responded. Looks like Home plugs is the best option.
Thanks
