After surviving Christmas 2010, well nearly!! The last thing I want to think about is Christmas 2011:DTo Dare is To Do:beer:0

I wouldn't worry re: the farepack thing, as the regulations have changed and the customers now have far more protection.
What would concern me are the prices - for example, they have a dsi bundle consisting of a dsi and three games for £329. You can get a DSI for £120/£130 - and there is no way that would would pay £200 for 3 games.
The thorntons hamper is £58.50 - but if it is anything like this year, they will have loads of offers on nearer the time and you can probably get more for less.
IMO you would be better off opening a savings account, paying the money into that and then enjoying offers on the items you want to buy as they appear. You would pay much less than if you did it through Park imo.0 -

put away a monthly amount of money
buy cards/wrapping paper in the sales to put away for next year
buy some festive table accessories in the sales - chargers/candle sticks/napkins
attempt to get better at baking throughout the year and do my own xmas cake/mince pies/xmas cookies
do what I done this year - start xmas shopping at the beginning of November, do most of it online and have it all wrapped by the end of November
Great idea about the cards etc in the sales - I get through loads of wrapping and ribbons. Same with the baking. I wanted to make Christmas cup cakes for lChristmas tea at my sisters (8 of us) but wasn't sure (BIL and his side of the family don't hold back if they don't like something !).
I also want to make cross stitched cards for family and neighbours so I need to start early ....... January !
Happy New Year to you all

Hi all! Id love to join in, if thats ok? Ive been a fly on the wall the past few times!
I went shopping today and bought my cards - BHS - Back of 25 was £5 now £1. Dont send many cards, so thats perfect! Going to buy my wrapping paper tomorrow (if i find any decent ones!)
Im never any good at buying gifts in the Jan sales, but I will try and buy some throughout the year!
ALSO, Il try the money saving of £1 a week, but Ive only just moved out into my own place, so need to think about bills first!

Hey ladies, i have also been a bit of a follower but started selling my makes this year so left me a little short for time on making my own gifts so i have already prepared all next years homemade christmas cards, going to work on all the birthday cards for the year in the next week or so.
I made calenders and notepad holders which went down well this year so have made a load for next year just need to add the 2012 calender stubs when i see them around.
I also have all the cello bags for all the sweet gifts, so going to make toppers and then i will be able to add sweets at the last minute. I still have reindeer food coming out of my ears which are made up but just need toppers.
I am going to try and make some jams and preserves so will make labels up in preperation.
This year i had all presents bought by August as i knew i was being made redundant but it worked great so will do the same coming year. Shame i left the wrapping till last minute. Must not do that again!!
Look forward to the coming year and sharing makes with you all and seeing all your wonderful ideas.
Merry christmas ladies x x x0 -
As soon as Christmas Day has gone i start to plan next years Christmas have already ordered some items off the grabbit thread for birthdays and next christmas, and this year sold a lot of home made stuff like sock monkeys, knitted rabbits, scarves, and wristwarmers ets so started my first scarf last night and like others aim to put a £1 away a day for next year. I mad 2 hampers this year and got most of the items buy one get one free like jams, chutneys, cheese biscuits, chocs etc so the hampers cost me half the price going to try and make some homemade jams and chutneys next year. Thanks for starting the thread.Jan lunch to work days 0/200
