Hello,
I've imported all my local files into Spotify. Is there a way to automatically create playlists based on artists so friends can then see these published playlists?
I'd rather not have to create hundreds of playlists manually.

Hmm,
Can you not just search for artist and then drag across the track you want into a playlist?
If you just want to listen to random tracks there is a 'artist' radio.0 -

I don't think you follow.
Spotify allows you to share playlists. Often these will be one album from an artist. My question is, is there a way to create playlists based upon your local imported music files.
If not does anyone know of crawling software which would create playlists based on the folder structure / file names of local media then not link it to Spotify so it streams the music.
The one way I can think of resolving this issue is to "Star" every song then they'd all be available under "Starred".0 -
Anyone else?0

yes you can add 'local' files to any playlist, if you want to make a playlist of just one artist (which the songs are in the local files section) just click 'local files' (under stared),
arrange the list by 'artist' (click on the artist column) and find the artist and use the shift select method to highlight them all and drag to a playlist (or if you drag to the '+ new playlist' it will name the playlist the artist name aswell)
if the song is not on spotify then they won't be able to listen to the song if they don't have it in their local computer.0
