No electricity
Options
My brother moved into a flat above a commercial property - he has lived there for 3 months. He tried to change his electricity over but nobody could find the address and the meter number on it.
Today on Christmas Day at 10.30am electricity stopped getting into the property, we think there is a fault... we [he can barely see] have been ringing around YEDL, several suppliers... to no avail. Again cannot find details.
Help me find someone to ring? what to say? He is sleeping on our sofa for the time-being.
My brother does live on his own, but he also had children... we were supposed to have a second Christmas Day Tomorrow. Now it is all ruined.

Hi,
Is his the only property affected or are their others in the same street?
If his is the ownly property, it's more likely to be an issue with either his meter or his wiring. If it's the meter, that would need to be sorted via the energy supplier who contact their meter operator. No help in this case as he doesn't have a registered supplier - not sure what to suggest there.
If it's wiring or fuse box, he'd need to get a private electrician.
What did YEDL say when he rang them? To check that he rang the correct distribution company input the postcode into the following webpage and that will confirm who is responsible- don't worry, the fact it's an eon page won't make a difference.

I would suggest creating a big fuss, if he's in the postcode area they should hopefully take some responsibility.
Hope he gets it sorted asap0 -
Spent a couple of hours looking through some boxes from the past tenant, they had some left over paper work... Found their account. Hopefully someone is coming out Tonight. *fingers crossed* it is not his responsibility.
