Just has one of the above for Xmas and can't get it to work on Vista. I've installed the software, and then connected the USB cable to the cassette player and PC and can't get the software to see the device. I've tried reinstalling and restarting the laptop, with no success.
Does anyone have advice on what to do to make it work?

Right click on the speaker icon in the taskbar and you should see some option for the line in/mic and it opens up a whole new mixer. - sorry away from real computer to give exact steps now, but you basically need to tell the computer to look at that device as opposed to the builtin microphone.0

Thanks for the help.
I've downloaded audacity and then used this http://www.t2mp3.com/audacitytips.pdf to set it up to record from the cassette player.0
