  • If i could say i was paying rent then i would list the followin expenditure below.

    Income
    NET 740 (after tax)

    Rent £400
    House Keep £200
    Tel Phone £35
    Travel £40
    Clothing £40

Medical prescriptions, glasses/contacts, £10 emergency fund they now allow (but thats technically your £10 surplus you are allowed to have), insurance etc.
  • Hi all.

I have decided to go with filling the form and see what happens. I started my job begining of october so will say i sent a letter to inform them of employment should they ask why i have not informed them.
    Here is my final breakdown.

    NET Income 185 p/w or 740p/m

    Expenditure
    Rent £350
    House Keeping £180
    Tel £25
    Travel £71
    Cloths £40
    Haircuts £10

    Total £686

    Disposable £64

    Total £740

    All look ok?

Probibly wont get early discharge but would rather not get into any trouble by quitting my job and the OR slap a BRO on me.
I recieved the IPOQ and EDREV if this is relavent.

    Thankyou all for your help.

looks okay, but don't forget things like prescriptions/dentist/opticians costs, need to factor in how much that might cost over the year, for example if you had a filling, you'd be looking at £46.50 (standard NHS charges) and if you had a root canal and a crown, your looking at £192, also prescriptions are £7.20 for each medicine and and eye test is around £20-30 depending on the optician. I even put a small amount down for a holiday. While this isn't excepted by all OR's, their guidance does state that they can allow a reasonable amount for a non extravagant holiday.

Monthly income will be £801-67 a month rather than £740 (£185 * 52 /12), so at the moment you appear to have a surplus of £115.

Is this because of the tax and ni contributions ?

    my tax code is 647L1

    I earn 218.25 - 18.60 tax - 11.91 ins so (total £30.51)
    net pay £187.74

Do i need to draw up an income/expenditure based on the £218.25?

    EDIT

    I have made a revision based on a monthly figure of £813.54 (NET 187.74 *52wk/12mth = 813.54 P/M)

    Rent £400
    House Keep £180
    Mobile £35
    Travel £71
    Cloth £40
    Hair £10
    Optician £10 (glasses)

    Sub £746
    Disp £68

    Total £814.00

I just got these forms yesterday. Talking about early discharge ect. I have been asked to fill out the income/expenditure form. AGRRRRRR.

The bad thing about the whole thing is that I am now working part time (25 hrs/week) with take home of £185 a week. I am seriously considering about deliberatly getting myself sacked. I have no ipa/o as i was unemployed when i went BR and am currently 4 months into the 12 month auto discharge.

    Q. What should i do?
    a. Ignore the forms and not send off
    b. Get sacked from my job and then get a new job after discharge
c fill out the forms ( I feel i will end up with a 3 year ipa which i wish to avoid at all costs.)

Honestly, you will get more than 185 quid a week in benefits. bin your job then work after discharge. Its a simple decision..

Not sure but they can tell your income by your NI / tax

I'm not sure that's the case. A lot of benefits like JSA won't pay if you have resigned/been sacked as far as I know.
