I'm wondering if they have mechanisms on the web site that stop you booking too many free tickets?? I wanted to book 4 seats for me and friends but could only get 2 free. So booked the 2 and the other seats were coming up as costing £6.00 each - so cleared my cookies and tried again and was able to book another 2 identical free seats as I did previously?! So this might be worth a try for some? I'm also kicking myself that I didn't do this for my return journeys as it was only the outward ones that came up as free and I'm now wondering if the same mechanism makes sure your only getting the one free seat if you search for return journeys. Might be worth booking separate journeys even though you'll pay the 50p booking fee twice it would still be cheaper.

Availability of megabus freefare for Liverpool (0915

P.S. On many of these dates bookings are currently
available on the 1348 train from Liverpool Lime St.
to Euston(arrive 1556) for £1.

Just booked London to Manchester on 24th March return on 31st....bargain 50p booking fee, we travel this journey around 6 times a year so to get a freebie now and again is a bonus...Now all we have to worry about is that the coaches are clean and comfy :-)

I found (and bought) several free tickets Swindon to London however one booking resulted in payment being taken from my debit card but no ticket being issued. I have tried to contact Megabus but they have just ignored me. So, I guess I have to put this down to experience and right it off.
Equally problematic is the additional 30%, added to your card, after purchase is confirmed as the stated 50p booking fee thus making it 65p. It's a sneaky trick and well worth watching out for in the future.

I can only get available dates until the middle of February for travel to London. How have other people managed to get dates until March? The on line site just won't let me book any further ahead. Have those who have booked dates in March booked via the phone?. I am not too bothered about a free place, but cheap would be nice!!
