Advice please on Boiler Settings

Hi,

After some advice if possible please.

What setting should I have the boiler temp on, to supply rad's, should I set it to the maximum ( six ) so that it heats the rad's quicker - is this most cost effective?

I also have a control stat in my hallway, does this over-ride the stats on the individual rad's or do the rad stats determine the heat for those rooms.

And finally if the stat in hallway was set for example to 20 and the rad stat in living room was on maximum - what would be the maximum temperture on that rad - 20?

Thanks in advance.

Dave

If you have a room thermostat and rad TRVs then its advisable to set the boiler to high allowing the house to be heated quicker. The room thermostat will control the overall maximum temp, whilst the TRVs allow you to adjust the heat for individual rooms.
