BT hotspots

I am about to resume work, after 12 month recovering from a motorcycle accident. I now have a netbook, and I wanted to know:
  • Will my laptop automatically find BT hotspots when I am out and about?
  • And when will I sign in to my account?
  • Will I be allowed to use Skype?
  • If I am on a train, will my laptop automatically find different hotspots, or do I have to search manually?
Your expert assistance is, as ever, greatly appreciated.
And Merry Xmas to all.

when out and about just look for Btopenzone or BTFon hotspots , once you have connected to then the first time it should automatically connect to any it finds that are called Btopenzone or BTFon

when you are connected to the wifi hotspot the first time you open your browser each session you will be asked to enter your BT email address and password

you are most unlikely to find free wireless on a train

But will I be able to do everything I can normally do at home, including Skype?
