the rates seem pretty competitive too - cheaper than the MSE tool offers up for some countries

what are the thoughts about tesco's international calling card?

Worth noting calls via the 0800 Freephone access incur a 1p per min surcharge.

Calls from a BT payphone incur a 20p per min surcharge.

Plus their is a 4p connection fee per call.

Tesco charge 2p/min to call the US. You can do it for 1p/min without prepaying through a number of companies, one even advertises it for 0.5p/min.
Non-starter for me.

Yes www.18185.co.uk only charge 0.5p and 4p connection to the States from an appropriate line.

Or 1p a minute if you use there freephone access number.

But 8p a minute and 4p connection to UK mobiles is reasonable.
