NPower Break In!!!!
Options
Hi All
New poster here, two days ago Npower broke into my house to perform a gas meter safety check whilst me and my wife were in work, this check had already been completed 4 months ago by npower contractor. Npower drilled the locks on my back door, entered the house, checked the meter and left new keys posted thorough the front door, with a sheet saying we needed to check the meter, but no copy of the warrant to go with this and no details of times or people who attended.
i rang npower and they have said that on checking the records they can see that the meter had been checked 4 months ago and blamed it on changing the contractors who do this and information not being passed over, i explained that i was not happy that they entered my house whilst not entitled too after me previously having a day off work to comply with their request for an appointment 4 months prior. As a side to feeling as though my house is not safe, we have a 7 month old puppy who stays upstairs in the back bedroom (dont panic, a vet has checked it out and said it is perfectly suitable and preferable to a cage due to her size
) and on hearing people in the house she has gone mad and chewed a hole in the partition wall!!
where do i stand on seeking compensation (they have already agreed to pay to cover the costs of the wall) and / or reporting them to other authorities. I would also like to check if the warrant is valid as we recieved no warning.
this has greatly upset my wife as she is quite house proud and is wary now that locks have been changed by someone we know nothing about and have been unable to check their accreditations etc etc
Thanks
Nedster

How much compensation are you seeking? Millions or a few quid? Money doesn't fix everything.0

Well, if they didn't have a warrant, it's a case of breaking and entering. This is a criminal act and it should be reported to the police. Let npower explain that one.0

To get a warrant you should have had prior warning of the hearing from them and the Courts. You can check with Npower & the Court whether any warrant was granted. If not, as said above, their actions would be illegal.
They are a high handed company & it's about time people stood up to them & they were cut down to size.0 -
I'd be ringing a 'if there's blame, there's a claim' lawyers now. Compo!0

Either that or the papers, I'm sure they'd love to run that story, and this may focus NPower's mind to actually try to make up for thier efforts.Mixed Martial Arts is the greatest sport known to mankind and anyone who says it is 'a bar room brawl' has never trained in it and has no idea what they are talking about.0

They are more than likely to of had a gas & electrcity rights of entry warrant, bulk stamp at the courts.0
