Diverted flight taxi fare refund

Our Monarch flight was diverted to stansted. Leaving us outside the airport at about 2.30 am. Our car was at Gatwick
The pilot advised us to make our way home and monarch would refund the cost.
I went to the Monarch website and it shows tech error when i email.
My question is 1) Will they refund the taxi fare?
2) if any one has gone this route who did they contact?

Thanks for the quick reply. The pilot said that they would offer hotels as buses were not available and hence his advice of making our own way home.
However on bookinng the taxi then we found out they were putting on the buses so in this situation where would we stand.0
