Dropshipping? Any experiances or leads?

I've had some good experiences but one really really bad one about 2 years ago that killed my ebay business and left me in debt! Basically I bought wholesale price vitamins off a powerseller on ebay. He bought in bulk and had quite a few people buying from him. He had a lady that would send the vitamins to my customers for me. It worked great until just after Xmas when I had a huge order of £6,000 in with him (and my profit of nearly £3k). Unfortunately he then decided to do a runner with my money! I was left £3k short of refunding my customers. End result was bad debts..no ebay business any more and this fellow probably on some beach in the Carribean! :mad:
Never did understand why he screwed me and a few others over as he was making a good living out of us!
On the plus side I've dealt with good companies but some of them have small margins - so volume is key!

I don't want to mention too much of my experience or how I know this for fear it will look like I am advertising but here's a little secret - If you are searching fro dropshippers then you are going in the wrong direction. Search for wholesalers and ask them if they will dropship to your customers.

You may need to haggle a little but the wholesaler has nothing to lose and could end up gaining a valuable outlet via you.
