32" Hd Lcd Tv £399!!

Hi
The importants of having HDMI socket is so you can recieve high definition from Cable companies such as Telewest who use a TVDrive box with a HDMI output socket also for an Xbox 360 and I think for use with a computer. The more HDMI sockets you have the more imput devices you can have at anyone time. This seems to be the way things are going Toshiba latest model 32WLT68 has 3 and there last model 32WLT66 had 2.
Hope this helps.
Great site!0 -

just to say i bought thisa tv 2 days ago, not completely happy, i use it for gaming, and have noticed considerable motion blur at times. thinking of taking it back now and getting a crt (Idun dun duuun). unfortunately i have not been able to get any specs from the web, or even the instructions booklet with it to confirm the response time on it, so i dont know if this will be a problem with other lcd tvs sadly.
i am getting a mate to bring round a 360 soon to check its how it looks in HD, but even if it looks great i dont think it will be enought to stop me taking it back0 -

ploppy, I'd grab the Teco from Techfever. Mine arrived on Monday. I use it for gaming (Xbox 360 using HD) and it's great. I've also got a PS2 hooked up to it through component and that's fine too - no blur or ghosting. Sky's fine through scart. It's a much better spec tv that the Woolies, Argos and Makro tvs and is made by the company that makes screens for Sony and Viewsonic. If you go through Quidco, you get an extra £8 or so back, too. They are expecting stock in on the 16th.ploppyjim wrote:just to say i bought thisa tv 2 days ago, not completely happy, i use it for gaming, and have noticed considerable motion blur at times. thinking of taking it back now and getting a crt (Idun dun duuun). unfortunately i have not been able to get any specs from the web, or even the instructions booklet with it to confirm the response time on it, so i dont know if this will be a problem with other lcd tvs sadly.

There's a thread on here somewhere about this particular tv - check out the reviews for it. No complaints from anyone and definitely great value for money! Mine cost me £407 all in all after the £8 back from Quidco. In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?

well ive taken back my acoustic solutions model, argos is always good on its refunds. however after that i went into currys and had a wee look at a samsumg r73 (http://www.samsung.com/uk/products/television/tftlcd/le26r73bdxxeu.asp) running the game i play most, pro ev, on the ps2. and even on this high end model, with reputed 8ms response, i could see motion blurring. because of this ive decided not to go for the teco unless i can see it in the flesh running the sort of apps ill be using it for, as im never keen on internet sites returns policies. and once again it looks like ill be going for crt, think its worth saying that whilst lcds are nice i have read that the technology involved means that even with a hypothetical 0ms response time there could still be blurring, or apparent blurring
"The visual effect of motion blur is self-explanatory and it is fairly intuitive to realise that a slow pixel response-time will cause this problem. What is less obvious, but at least as important in causing motion-blur, is the 'sample-and-hold' effect: an image held on the screen for the duration of a frame-time blurs on the retina as the eye tracks the (average) motion from one frame to the next. By comparison, as the electron beam sweeps the surface of a cathode ray tube, it lights any given part of the screen only for a miniscule fraction of the frame time. It's a bit like comparing film or video footage shot with low- and high-shutter speeds. Motion-blur originating from sample-and-hold in the display can become less of an issue as the frame (refresh) rate is increased... provided that the source material (film, video, or game) contains that many unique frames. For LCD TV there is significant interest in the industry in strobing (flickering!) the backlight deliberately so as to reduce sample-and-hold motion-blur!" - from http://www.techmind.org/lcd/
hope this helps someone. for what its worth i never had any problems with the set as a tv, just running games.0 -
