Hi
my son set up itunes a few weeks ago and only used it to get his cds on to his nano , now today I brought him a £15 card and it is not excepting the activation code,
is there something he has not done , he has sent them an email but that takes 48hours for a reply .

What error message comes up when he enters the code?

He scraped off the back to reveal the number and it say the code is not recognized but have checked it 3 times all in caps , only brought today from tesco

From Apple:

Make sure you've entered the code exactly as it appears on your card. If the code is illegible, try to enter the code as best as you can. Invalid code messages typically mean that the card activation number may have been mistyped. Please read your code carefully. The following letters and numbers can look very similar:

• The letter A and the letter H
• The letter B and the number 8
• The letter D and the number 0
• The letter E and the number 3
• The letter G and the number 6
• The letter H and the letter W
• The letter J and the number 1
• The letter M and the letter N
• The letter O and the number 0
• The letter P and the letter F
• The letter Q and the letter O
• The letter Q and the number 0
• The letter S and the number 5
• The letter S and the number 8
• The letter V and the letter U
• The letter Z and the number 2

If you're still unable to redeem your code after verifying the characters in the code, you'll need to contact iTunes Store Support for help. You'll need to provide the activation code and serial number from the back of your iTunes Gift Card.

Have done that but have to wait 48 hours thanks just thought we might have missed something

A warning to others I phoned the Tesco I brought the I Tunes card from and explained they said they would change the card so off we went , according to them
1- it would not go though the till if it was not verified
2- she spent 1/2 hr on the phone to check it out then offered to issue a new one.
3- New card would not verified .
4- I asked for a refund and was told they are like phone cards we Can't give refunds .
5- she goes in the back and brings a brand new box and opens them put one though the till and said Madam would you like a Refund yes please said I .
They had a faulty batch as they were told the cards do not exist think how many they will be getting back .
