H Samuels..promised to be here for yesterday, now be after xmas refund?

Hi, i apologise if it is the wrong forum....

My partner returned an item bought from H Samuels the jewellers and picked another item (a ring) in replacement and paid the extra £50, they told him on friday 17th that the item would arrive on wed 22nd, ok no problem. he was working yesterday and today but yesterday late afternoon he gets a phgone call saying the item hasnt come in its going to be tuesday now and it was meant to be a present. He paid via debit card. the thing is he wants a refund and go and buy another ring from elsewhere in time for xmas, if he has a refund will it go back onto his card straight away i know some companies take a few days for the refund to reach the card. or can he demand the cash so he can shop elsewhere as i think that the verbal contract of 'it will be hre wednesday' has been brken. If they told him on friday it would be after christmas then he wouldnt have bought it from there.

from experience it usually takes a couple of days to go back on to the card.he could try asking for the cash instead, as its there fault they cant provide the goods in time for Christmas.

It's not up to them, it's up to your bank / card issuer how long the refund takes.

Just get a refund receipt from the store to prove it has actually been processed, as companies have a habit of 'forgetting' to process refunds on the day promised

Accept that it's the thought that counts, get the money refunded, buy something nicer in the sales together.

It's not like you still believe in Santa Claus, is it? x

its my bofriend who wants it there for xmas, the ring is for me and he's adamant to get me one for me to open xmas morning, i have said that if the ring is that nice then i am willing to wait for tuesday!!

there wasnt any in the shop that he liked and was inmy size hence why he ordered my size, he'll have to see what they say mora
