  • Hi Shoe Girl - well you def sound motivated!

I have got to start getting back on the weightloss wagon soon. I was doing Weight Watchers for a while and that was going great but I stopped it when I decided it was a waste of money. Of course I can't do it alone so the weight has come creeping back on in the last 6 months :(

But have added it into my budget so am starting back next week. Think I'm going to have about 2 stone to lose!
    2019 will be my year!!

 Washing machine is bust! Only had it 18 months - so not old but out of warranty of course! Googled it and worked out that the drive belt may have snapped. Managed to get it out and get the back off, and the belt seems to have snapped. Ordered one online for £12.90, should be here next week. Hope it works, better than £50ish call out charge etc if it does!

And my mum has taken my washing to do for me :D

Rest of the list didn't get finished - just watched SATC2 :j and am off for an early night :D

Have been playing around with my 2011 budget and pondering what to focus on? My debt payments are fixed and manageable and all my utilities, insurances etc are on best available deals (I have learned something since I joined this site :p)

I want to keep my 'having a life' philosophy, I will never turn down an invitation in order to save money, I will always have my nails done and I will always live my life in fab shoes :D

I think day-to-day unplanned spending is where I can make some savings so I have a few plans. I buy my lunch at work everyday, we have a subsidised restaurant. I may save a little by taking my own lunch but realistically I know I won't do it so I am allowing myself a budget of £2 per day - this will buy me a sandwich, jacket, salad etc but I will need to cut out the crisps, chocolate, cake etc (I am on a diet after all :o) I will take in fruit for my snacks. I will also start to meal plan and do a weekly shop - not saying I will cook from scratch but not calling into the Co-op everyday on my way home should cut out the extras, like more cake and magazines, that I always ending up buying in there too

My budget (as above) gives me £200 a month for all of the above plus my nails, leaving approx. £70 for 'everything else' - nights out, birthdays etc. I have also allocated £30 per month in my budget for Lula's Clothes Challenge, which I fully intend to stick to :D

I am opening a separate account for 'spends' and may open another one for clothes? Hopefully, the spends account will stop me borrowing from myself all the time - my all in one place account makes it too easy to make internet transfers from my holiday and car tax etc funds

I also intend to do the '£365 in 365 days' - I have a savings account set up for this. Not sure what I will use it for, maybe debt, maybe a treat, maybe half and half (12 months to decide) I will also be doing a 'copper' jar and a 20p jar - have got out of the habit of this recently!

Any surplus at the end of the month, plus any Quidco etc, can be extra debt payments, attacking one debt at a time. My target this year is to pay off £4k - but would be fab if I could pay off more :j

My salary has literally just gone in on internet banking so I'm off to pay some bills and make some transfers

    Here's to a more financially savvy 2011 :D
