He, he - nails were only £5.25 (even I'm not that bad
) - the £20 included my Superdrug and M&S stuff too
But you are right - I do need to look at all the 'bits' that add up - like the pizza

Don't worry, you have another 51 weeks left to try again and you will get there! I read that as £20 for nails too but I think shoegal meant £20 for lunch, superdrug and the nails which is better.

I don't budget, (clearly how I got into this mess) but what ever is left in the bank account goes on the debt. Often it isn't anything!!!! but it is a start to the not running out of money which I did loads of!

I need a bit of an 'all or nothing' kick start - am not very good at limiting treats, am better at cutting them out

1st morning on Slim Fast - so far, so good. I have my dieting head on at the moment
I stuck to my resolution of keeping the flat tidy (ish) so less housework stuff to do today :j . BIL is coming to (hopefully) put the new belt on the washing machine. If it works will have loads of washing to do, if not I will have to take it to my Mum's and find somebody to come and fix it
Also need to do a workout - nox excuses today

Morning lady. you sound focussed. No harm in using Slim Fast as a kick start, my friend is doing the same. I seem to have lost a few pounds already on my diet (though it's more about clothes than weight for me) and have 1 week to go on the harsh phase before i decide what to do next.
Re your budget, I take it you paid all the essentials and then put a bit to the debt and then your 'spends' is what was left? Do you have a seperate food budget? That works really well for me and I take that out and then divide whatever else is left by the number of weeks in the month for my spends. That way, if I have to borrow from another week at least I know I have done so and can plan accordingly. Hope that makes sense and enjoy your day.'The road to a friends house is never long'0 -
Hi Souk
Yes, the money I am talking about is what is left after all bills and debt payments have been made, and I also budget £180 per month for petrol as I have a long drive to work
I don't have a separate food budget but I am thinking that doing it that might help. I am quite disorganised with food, don't batch cook and don't really meal plan so I think this is an area I can work on - obviously any money saved gives me more 'fun' money :j
Am doing Slim Fast this week, which I bought yesterday, so will have my lunch at work (already budgeted for) so should be no food spends this week

Morning Shoe Gal,
glad I misread the £20 nails
Bizarre, we have do have almost exactly the same amount left. That's good though, as we can discourage eachother from unnecessary spends & it's now only 22 days left
.
If we go as long as possible without spending at all, then there are less days to spread the amount over & if we do really well we can even have a little treat towards the end.
I've just found a tin of slimfast in the back of the cupboard so might give that a go. Do you use 'red' milk to mix it or just water ?
I cant really buy 'red' milk as well as the 'green' one - too much money !
This is indeed a mini challenge & we will succeed
ETA - I hear ya on the food disorganisation, meal planning & non batch cooking ( except for hobnobs, rock cakes & choccie brownies - the more the better

Hi Lula
I do the Slim Fast bars rather than the shakes (cos I don't like milk!) so I can't help with that one - says skimmed milk on the website but I suppose if you used semi skimmed you could just reduce the calories eleswhere slightly, don't think there's a huge difference in calories between the two?
