Have you tried Googling for reviews? For example:

if you do a search on https://www.flyertalk.com there are often discussions on noise cancelling headphones - the Bose ones get the thumbs up - and I think you get cashback on some of the sites. Ebay does not take kindly to people selling Bose ones.0

Be realistic about what noise-cancelling can do - non will magically silence the screaming brats 1 row behind you during an 11 hour flight to LAX.0

I have some Sony Noise cancelling earbud phones, they are pretty good and very comfortable with several sizes of silicon earbuds in the pack. I don't know how much they cost because I got them free but I am sure they are a lot less than £270.0

I got some Phillips ones fro Asda - they come with a special little box that makes the noise cancelling bit - cost about £30Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0

"The HN-700 is very good. Good enough to even challenge the Bose set that we tested and at the time thought were great. But, and here is the killer element, these cost a fraction of the price - £39.99."
Very happy with mine, should be about £30 online.0 -
Ive got a pair of Bose QC2's and they are awesome, I bought them in the US and cost me about £170 with a cd player thrown in. I cant see how the QC3's will perform as well witout the full ear cups but the technology does work. assaid before the dont cancel out the screaming of kids but the do cancel the constant drone that airplanes make and the road noise of a car all other noises are reduced and if you have music playing then you just hear the music.
I cant praise them enough. I will be buying apair of the new bose in ear phones when they are released over here.0 -
I bought the phillips '30 quid' headphones at Dixons in Heathrow airport as I did quite a lot of air travel at the start of the year. They work quite nicely, you suddenly realise how loud an airplane is when you stop using them!
Personally, i break headphones too easily to spend lots on them and these have really lasted. Come in a handy pouch and have a neckstrap so i can take the buds off without loosing the cables.
You might want to try the latest model (PHILIPS SHN2500)
Note: the noise reduction works well againsts 'constant' noises (engine noises, electrical buzzing, background 'natter') but won't cancel voices next to you that much.0
