Credit reference agenices finish uploading electoral register

Last week, credit reference agencies has finished uploading the 2010 electoral register.

People who just moved can now apply for financial products if they need to.

Comments

  • I'm confused... does this mean they only update their records once a year?

ie. If I get myself on the electoral roll at my new address in January, it won't show on my credit report until December 2011?
  • Just to explain, the voter registration forms are sent out once a year in August/September, and the register is published on December 1st on the basis of those forms.

If you move house and update your registration, this will be added every month from January to September. The credit agencies will receive these monthly updates, but the new register is once a year.

I phoned my council yesterday as I moved house in October and they said that theirs would not be getting uploaded to CRAs until January. I'm sure my council isn't the only one - best check this out first
