Have you checked for malware, or done a system restore?
  • Whilst I do not claim to be any sort of expert with computers I have had loads of problems and sometimes I would spend hours and hours every day trying to fix my computer until I eventually did so I can give you some advice of what I did to boot my pc up again.

When it didn`t start up I clicked on the start button in bottom left hand corner of screen then click on the run button, then type in msconfig exactly like i have typed it. Make sure the normal start up - load all devices drivers and services is selected then click on launch system restore then click on restore my computer to an earlier time, click next and then choose a date to restore your computer to, I suggest you restore it to the last time it was working then click next and the computer will do it automatically. Quite often after the system re-starts it will say system restore did not work. If this happens then click on a more recent date.

Also check your tower for dust as when I checked mine I couldn`t believe how dirty it was inside so I undone the four screws and gave it a clean and a gentle hoover which removed all my dust.
    Hope this helps you

As well as checking for malware etc

Have you checked for updated drivers for the graphics card?
