easyjet compensation

Hi,

I booked a ski trip over the Christmas period. Hoever, the flight was cancelled. We were put up in a hotel with the offer of flying out on the 27 Dec 2010. However as that was my return date it is of no use. I have checked my policy and I will receive no compensation for the cost of my holiday (£600-700) from my insurer if the flight is cancelled. If the flight is delayed, I will receive compnsation from the insurer. I have been told that easyjet must compensate me for these costs. Can anyone let me know how I should find out more information.

You are entitled to be booked on the next available flight or a full refund.

Easyjet will probably refund for the flight but the rest of the holiday has nothing to do with them. You may well struggle to get compensation for that though since the ski holiday bit wasn't cancelled, you just didn't get there.

Contact easyJet and ask them for the reason for the cancellation of the outbound flight.

There's no information to make a conclusion.
It may be meteorological, but it may also be something else.
