post office travel card closure

I have just had a letter telling me that my post office pre-loaded travel card will close on 14 feb 2011.
I have around £200 in euros on it and do not plan to use it before then.
I can either cash it in now or wait until it has closed when they will refund my money. "We will be using a preferential exchange rate for this transaction" at that time, whereas now it is the standard t & c.
Anybody care to guess whether it is best to do this now or wait till Feb under preferential terms?

You might get an extra 16p by waiting for their preferential terms.
Personally I wouldn't bother waiting.0 -
We're (as are many others of course) in the same position. I'm really quite annoyed about the whole situation as we'll all lose out in the rate conversion.
I'm going to hang on till they close it because 1) there's a slight chance my husband may travel abroad with work before then and he can draw out the money and 2) at least we'll get a 'preferential rate' and also cause them hassle by sending out a cheque.
Do you know anyone who'll be going to Europe soon and who you can trust to draw out your money on your behalf?
Why they can't give the option to transfer to the new card I don't know...:rolleyes:0
