Find out who owns a property

Options
Hi there, first time poster long time reader here!

Was wondering if anyone knows the answer to the following question;

I'm thinking about making an offer on a house that I believe is possibly for sale even though it is not advertised. It's actually owned by one of two people. Now my predicament is this,

If I go to the property registry and pay the £4 to find out who owns the property do my details get passed on to the person who owns it? My predicament is that I know only one of the people would be willing to sell the property and the other would not and I don't particulary want the other person to know i'd be interested in buying it!

Bit complecated I know but thats basically it, does your application to find out who owns a property remain anonymous or does your info get passed on to the properties owner?

Cheers!

No, your details don't get passed on. If they both own the property and one doesn't agree to the sale, its not selling.
  • Excellent cheers!

I don't think they both own the property just one or the other. Weird I know but we'll see what happens...

Why link to my post? This thread has nothing to do with the one I started.

    There is no conspiracy..........

    "nothing to do with...." ?

The OP here asked:"If I go to the property registry and pay the £4 to find out who owns the property do my details get passed on to the person who owns it?"

In your post you asked: "Is the property owner informed of a check or are they able to find out who has checked recently?"

Seems to me this thread is asking exactly what you asked in your post! I never said it was a conspiracy!

To show that when I said :

there were more than one person asking the question!

This dialogue is getting a bit circular. Probobly boring for others on the forum. If you have any other questions, PM me for further self-explanatory answers.

I don't find your use of the word 'strange' as 'self explanatory' - you pointed to a thread previousy started by me and indicated that you thought it strange that so many people are asking this question.

Yes, it may be boring to others for me to query this, no I don't want to PM you about it. Just answer the question.

Why is it 'strange' that someone else has asked a similar question to that raised by me? If you meant nothing by your original remark then why post? If you did intend some meaning then please explain more fully as you have not really delivered your view to the point that I understand what you intended to imply.
