H Samuels - Bluewater - GRR!

GAH!

Okay i know it's christmas and busy but...

Went to Bluewater last night with OH for dinner (La Tasca, busy but lovely and nice, quick service). Just as we were leaving I had a call from a friend of mine asking me to pop into H Samuels and see if they had a product in stock. Not a problem i said, so off we went. H Samuels was busy, no one available to help so we found the product on display and waited for someone to become available. After 20 minutes of not being aknowledged, i sent OH to a different counter to see if he could grab someone to help. He got a lady 10 minutes later who said, 'you'll have to wait, i'm not trained on diamonds.' So 30 minutes later... im getting a bit wound up. But we waited for another 15 minutes paitently, then grabbed someone else who said, 'someone will be with you in a moment.' By this time we had waited 45 minutes, I asked if it was possible to speak to a supervisor thinking they must be trained in diamonds and my query will take 30 seconds to answer. Another 15 minutes later, so this is totalling an hour, the supervisor comes and asks if we are okay. My reply was, well apart from the fact we've been here for an hour and no one has helped us yes. What size is this ring? I'm informed of the size, which is great. As previously mentioned this was for a friend. I requested that the ring be held until this morning so he could come and pick it up. The supervisors reply was, 'we cant hold stock'. I very calmly reminded her that we had been waiting an hour and that the request waas not an unreasonable one. No joy. So out comes the manager who reluctantly agrees to hold the ring. A complete shambles, we were in there for an hour and a half, longer than we spent on dinner!

If i wasn't an important ring for an important friend I would have left after 20 Minutes. I understand it is a busy time of year but I was completely mortified that no one even thought to apologise for the wait!

Anyway, rant over, my advice, do it online!

I was in Bluewater last night too from about 4pm until 8pm

I actually didn't think it was that busy. Parked within minutes in the John Lewis lower car park.

    Infact i've seen Saturdays busier

You were not the "only" person shopping. It's 2 days before christmas so they were dealing with other people. Comparing your dinner to a ring is a bit daft isn't it. Resturants have a steady flow of customers all year round. Christmas is manic for the best of stores

I wouldn't of waited an hour. I would of either shopped earlier i.e days/weeks ago or ordered online
If Adam and Eve were created first
.Does that mean we are all inbred
  • No, you're right it wasn't too bad on general, was pleasntly suprised!

As i said, important ring for an important friend who couldn't get to bluewater to purchase it, if it was me buying the ring i would have walked out!

Anyway, it's always good to have a rant and get it all out!

I am guessing that every assistant was serving another customer at the time, so why should you expect them to stop serving one customer to tend to another customer?

I went to Bluewater too - about 8pm onwards. It wasn't that busy later on, so perhaps if you'd left it a bit later, you would have had better service. Anyway, its kind of expected, being Christmas.
