  • Evening all

Not the most productive of days moneywise, I started my uni course and am only a week behind now so that's progress. Will be trying to get up to date tomorrow. Had the chat about Christmas so I think we are fairly organised again will be buying a few more bits and bobs tomorrow and searching for christmas decs.

Thanks for the chutney recipe Nicky, it's on my to do list will be buying ingredients tomorrow but have a feeling I will need to adjust the quantity as I only have a large saucepan instead of a big pot. I even have the steriliser (sp?) at the ready lol.

Just wanted to say a big thank you for the tutu and wings foxy hun, they arrived today. Hubby was looking after dd whilst I studied so when I went in to see her as she had been so good I brought them in with me. She said, in her own words "Thank you so much, I like it!" in the cute way two year olds do and her face just lit up. She has been strutting around proudly saying that she is a pretty princess today, so a big thank you Foxy for putting a big smile on my daughters face you really are too kind :)

Sadly the truck isn't coming near enough to us for us to go, the nearest is early in the morning. Would be lovely if they did it at night time with all the lights like the advert (which I saw tonight!).

Made £1 on viva so far so i'm going to slog on with that in a minute, I also swapped some unwanted items for a big craft bundle think I am a little addicted. Have my eye on a set of promarkers too :o

    Morning all

I was up early again this morning, wanted to get some bits cut out for the sofa. I am making up some "pretend" covers for the cushions I made out of old sheets to see whether I have the pattern right before using up my expensive stuff.

No surveys this morning and nothing new on T to do.

Savvy, the truck isnt coming near me either, nearest is Swanley which is still a way to go, and OH is working that day anyway. Its going to Lakeside and Bluewater too which are not that far away but its murder to get to either traffic wise on a normal day and its not coming down south until later December so will be manic.
  • Savvy - I only have a big saucepan too and it all fit in fine. I can't remember the size of the pan, it's just the biggest from the normal sets you can buy.

Does anyone know if fudge can be frozen? I want to make some as Christmas presents again but I don't really want to leave it until a few days before Christmas in case I'm in hospital or the little one has already arrived. If it can be frozen I could make some next weekend and then just defrost it nearer the time.

Oooh, I saw the Coca-Cola truck advert last night. As soon as it came on I paused it (hurray for Sky+!) and shouted for DH so we could watch it together :D The truck is coming to a big shopping centre quite close to us so we might go and see it.

I've got a busy day planned so I hope nobody minds if I write my job list here or I might (definitely will) forget something!

    * Wash baby clothes (ooh, it's getting close!)
    * Spray paint gift boxes if it doesn't rain
    * Add more things to Ebay
    * Make a giant paper cauldron (not Christmassy but something I really can't forget to do for work :o)
    * Do a Vistaprint order, might even need to do two as I want a couple of calendars.
    * If time, make some whisky marmalade.

I think that's all. Hope everyone has a productive day today :)

Ooh Nicky you are making me all excited for your new arrival! lol

Sorry havent posted much ladies but I have been keeping an eye on you! DS has a terrible cough and is waking at ridiculous times and getting up early too 5.30 this morning! Grrr! At least his fever has gone, hes one of these kids who gets a high fever when he has a cough or throat infection of any type! nearly hit 40 on Thursday night!!!

Anyways just made use of the codes on the Grabbit for Tesco and have got 24 stamps bought and a tin of Heros for the bin men along with some other bits for £28! Will be £23 if tcb tracks! Bargain! Just hope I have enough money in my account to cover it when it gets taken as we are creeping ever so close to overdraft limit now!

Coca Cola truck is coming to next town over but at 10am which is a bit silly as you would think they would do it late afternoon early evening so we can see the lights! Will defo be taking DS though!

Hope your all ok as its quite quiet on here! Rufus good luck with those pretend cushions lol

Ooh I also need to dress DS up as an elf for the December photo for the calender although I did want him infront of the tree but that may be pushing it as that wouldnt be till 1st and then would have to get quicker postage and thus cost more! Hmmm I may put wrapping paper over the door and stand him infront of that!

    Hiya Just testing this;

    ETA :

Sorry about that - I'm having trouble with MSE today. I'm writing huge replies to everyone, and it's saying I need to post more than 10 characters. I finally get it to work, and then it loses my reply. Grrr. I doubt I'll be posting much today. :(

Right, Rufus - there's some cream flat sheets on Grabbit. I thought they might be good for the backs of your cushions, but you might need them for your bed now. ;) I hope the templates you've make work first time.

Legend - sorry to hear about DS. DD2 was exactly the same, only she's growing out of it now. The temperatures don't get so high, or last so long. I hope he grows out of it too. Well done on the Mr T order. I did one but it threw a wobbly. Not sure if I'll get my order or not, but I live in hope. LOL

Savvy - step away from the Promarkers!!! You'll be addicted if you get some. One packet will never be enough, there's always other colours you need, and they are not cheap. I have over 150 now, so I know.

Blimey - I've writtten this out about five times, and I've forgotten who posted now.

Ohh Nicky - I love to see a washing line full of baby clothes. Oh the memories. :) There is a code for a free calender with Mothercare and photobox. p+P only. The offer expires today or the 15th, so best get a hurry on. http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=48203959&postcount=6 Just use a new email addy if you've used them before. I did two for my mum last Sunday, and they came by Thurs and are so much nicer than the Vista ones. ;)

Off now to put the decs up. If I can post again later I will, but if you don't see me, you know why.

DOn't forget free listing ebay - Quidco comp - S&S and tissue for Legend. Phew BYeeeeeeeee

    Thank you x

  • Yes Elysia, we live in a village about 20 mins south of Cov, we tend to do our shopping in Leamington but do use cov for the Ikea as well.

Very excited just won my first biggish competition, it's a spa day for 2 so am going to invite my best friend who is currently pregnant as a treat for her and a post pregnancy treat for me!

Good luck with all the moneymaking today, have family round for lunch so won't get the chance to do any today but will try and catch up tomorrow.

I don't think any of us do hun, but check the other Thrifty thread, the organised one. Susan on there usually has a craft stall around this time of year. I'm sorry I can't help further.

Boat Girl. I see, I'm 20 mins the other way. Right by the NEC. Congrats on your win. Hurray. That will be lovely for you both. :D

Have you been comping long? I'm terrible, if I don't win I give up. I'm determined to stick at it longer than a week this time. ;)

Gosh it's quiet on here today. I hope all is well. We have all the decorations up now, and the house is twinkling away lovely. :D.

Just another reminder for S&S (for myself more than anything :p).
