Thanks Nicky, will give it a try. Probably next weekend when hopefully I can stand up for a bit longer!
With regard to your Sister in Law, we had a similar dilemma when my sister was married to a complete tool, they are split up now thank goodness but not before he held her by her throat and stabbed a hole in the wall above her head and she got away to a refuge for a while before moving to a new area. We always had a bad feeling about him but my sis would never give anything away. What we used to do was buy a family pressie, such as a game or a big box of sweets, something that appeal to the children more and not him. We would also buy something for each of the kids but I felt exactly the same if you are seen to be accepting him then it's almost like you are condoning his behaviour.0 -

Nicky - I'm glad you have decided what to do through writing it down. I agree that not giving something may cause more issues, but understand your concerns. Maybe if DH has the chat, it might help her realise how worried you all are ? x
I've had a fab money making day - just over £70 from MB ing :j:j
Rufus - hope you can find somewhere in time for tonight !
The coke advert is supposed to be on again from today. What happens where the truck stops ?

I saw it last year, and they just handed out mini cans of drink and played carols! Was a nice touch though!
Well, not much done for me today. I've been in work all day, and I've got a few other things going on but I shall try and get something done either tonight or tomorrow morning.
How's everyone else getting on ?

Weekly update - Claimed a voucher from RewardTV and redeemed on Archerfish and Topcashback (referral became payable), had a few ebay sales (will put a few more things up for sale tomorrow with it being a free listing weekend) and received a voucher from Valued Opinions. Won 50p on Loyaltyshopper by participating in the paid to post comp, two book prizes also turned up in the post.
Elysia - You might find Loquax useful if you are getting into competitions - you can sort by type of competition i.e. review, tiebreakers, facebook, blog and twitter (not everyone is into these type of competitions so there is more chance of winning). You can also sort by prize category i.e. cash, beauty, computers, holidays etc.0 -
Hi everyone
Had a nice evening out, ED sent a taxi to pick me and YD up and we went to a Chinese restaurant. There were 13 of us altogether. While ED was outside having a ciggy one of the waiters came up and asked me if it was someones birthday or something so I said yes it was hers so he asked if we had brought a cake so I said we hadnt so he said he would go and look and see if he could find anything. When ED came back in all the lights went out and they played the happy birthday song and the waiter came out with a big chocolate gateaux with a sparkler in it. ED was well embarrassed as everyone in there joined in singing to her.
I got a bit of my sofa done earlier, just made up some new cushion pads for the back of it. I am adding photos on my blog as I go along. OH said he will take me to Dunelm Mill on Monday to get some more bits then its just a case of waiting for the postman to bring the rest. I am really hoping I can get it done by the end of the month as we want to put the tree up and the decs beginning of December. OH is going to paint the ceiling in here next weekend and we are going to change the colour of the paint on the woodwork as well so plenty to do.0 -
Evening all
Wow, it's quiet on here tonight - you all must be busy making lot's of money!
Rufus - Glad you had a lovely evening out. You sound ever so busy at the moment.
Elysia - Thanks for the info on the coke truck, I did not know that they did that. Is it very good? It's just that they do not come to my town but I noticed they do go to a nearby town so I wondered if it's worth the travelling.
I'm in a very good mood today and I feel very christmassyI have done well with my surveys too, did £5 on Thursday and Friday and £3 today so that's all adding up nicely. Also managed to sell an old football shirt on fb for £15 which is great as hubby was going to chuck it in the bin! My dd1 is at a sleep over tonight so very quiet here as she is the chatterbox of the house. I am really missing her tonight for some reason. She's been out on sleep overs loads before but for some reason tonight it feels strange, oh well, probably just me being soppy lol!
Hope everyone is well and having a good weekend.0 -
Ooh the truck is near me on Wednesday - is it worth making the effort to go?
Had quite a productive evening, kids in bed early and OH curled up on the couch so have watched X factor and been ebaying at the same time! Still got more to list so plan on doing that again tomorrow!Motto: You gotta be in it to win it!:j
2015 Objective - Pay off credit cards/Overpay mortgage
2015 Wins: Nothing yet, but keeping trying :T0 -
Boat girl - You're not far away then. We go to Cov at least once a week. I practically live in Ikea. LOL. I've not seen the CC truck before, so I don't know how long it lasts, but it's at the NEC at 5pm (ish) on the 8th - That's where I'll be.
Skiergirl - MB ing??? I must be tired, I can't think what that is.
Aspella - well done on your results hun. I keep forgetting RTV. I'll go and log in now, and make a note when the time is for the vouchers. Thanks. Thanks too for the tips on Loquax. I'm just treating it like a bit of fun really, I'll keep it in mind though. I've just bookmarked your post 'just in case'.
DJ - ahh bless you. I missed my dd's today too. Both were out today, and it was so quiet. I made two lots of recipes of bread pudding to see which one OH liked the best, then made loads of christmas cards. I like to live on the edge. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Rufus - glad you had a lovely time. It certainly made it a memorable birthday. It'll be her 40th before she knows it.
Well done on the ebaying Foxy. I think seeing the CC truck will get that Christmassy feeling started. I can't wait.I :heartpuls M.S.E.Mortgage Free 18/01/10 13 years and 8 months early on a 20 year mortgage!
