    Xmas Saver!
Mummy2three - Welcome, bet you are looking forward to the big day
Michelle - The kids will love that, can't wait till DD is older so I can take her, I think I'd enjoy it just as much
Elysia, there is a HUGE amount under beauty, makeup, bath products, shaving products, perfume, hair care products!

I've got 5 I can copy over from DY and I've written 3 so far today. I think I'm going to focus on beauty products this month and get the most out of the promo. Just spoke to my friend, and she agree'd we should just do birthdays this year for the lil ones, I've already got my godson some clothes for his bday so no need to worry there, thats another 2 off the list :D
    e
Well done for the chat, we've knocked a few on the head, another family, she texted and said, I'm skint this xmas can we do just cards, snapped her hand off.
Still think we can cull a bit more, the bday list, going to suggest to some of the family that they just do Miss Hoodie, and we do their grandchildren, works for xmas, so don't see how wont work for bdays! x
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

Morning all, just done the other half of an ips survey I was sent so I a now at 1105 points so hopefully not too long off a redeem although I bet they hardly send me any for ages, it always seems to happen when I get close. Got £1.11 on chow over night and £1.05 of it was from my perfume review so really happy with that. I have already done my £2.50 for today!! talk about a challenge to give me a push, going to try and get a few more reviews written today so that I am prepared for the next few days.

Hope you don't mind but going to list who we buy for xmas and see if any of you can give me ideas?

Mam - Easy she has a photo bag with kids on, perfume, a photo book of kids and I am getting her the John Bishop DVD from Am with vouchers when I redeem.

Dad - Whiskey and chocolate will have to spend cash for this one

Sister - 2 big pics of children she liked but need to find 2 x 12 x 8 frames cheaply any clues where?? and some pjs from Peacocks with a CBs voucher
Thats my family taken care of now for his,

Nana and Great Auntie Dot - we have ordered them a book of the kids and usually get them some tins of chocolates, they are mid 60s and mid 70s any ideas for something not expensive, one has a skin condition so can't do smellies.

FIL - again he has a photo book but not sure what else to buy him, we don't spend much on him and his wife (stepmother) and she peeves me as she just buys cheap things like pjs that are 3 sizes too small I would prefer them just to buy the kids to be honest

SMIL - body shop set which I managed to get for £5 and a box of malteasers £1 - nowt like a chep present lol!!

Niece - aged 7 - she lives half the week with her dad who is great with her and half week with her mam (SIL) who as long as they have food doesn't really care what state clothes are in or buying them nice things for bathroom - have bought her a bodyshop set and going to get her some pjs (HB) and some chocolates

Finally there are 2 nephews and here I get really stuck, they are 10 and will be 12, I don't think boys this age want clothes for xmas although I know this is what they need and they don't play with toys anymore, their mother would just end up lending money and never giving it back so i'm stumped, the only thing I thought I could do is give them CB vouchers and then she can't take the money for fags and they can choose what they buy but she doesn't drive and may not take them to spend them.

Any help is welcome, of course I have my 2 daughters to buy for but they are ainly done, some baby annabel clothes and then bits and they are finished. I currently have £10 CB and am waiting for £5 am, £18 CB, £10 Love shop and am at redeem for £20 am on DY but not cashing out til 1st Nov in time for the John bishop dvd and then will see how much I have.

Emma could you not take the boys shopping and ask them to point out a few things or maybe give them the Argos book and see what type of things they point out? Sorry cant be of much help as I dont have older boys to cater for just yet. I can see it must be hard because you obviously dont want the Mum to take what is the kids. Hopefully some of the other girls will have better ideas!

    Morning all

I am going to start joining in again proper from tomorrow as still trying to sort things out with the family. We have to go to OH's Dads this morning to take them shopping then spend the afternoon with my Dad as haven't seen him for a while.

I will do the £2.50 a day from tomorrow and the 10 reviews on DY for the month. I don't think I have much left to sell on Ebay but I will have a look round.

Catch you all later, Rufus xx

Emma, I agree with Legend's idea of giving the boys the Argos catalogue and asking them to circle what they like, a different colour pen for each boy. I considered doing that with my nephews but they are quite a bit younger and I think they would just circle everything!

Anyone who does McCains - go and check your points! They've gone crazy again, mine have jumped from 195 to 940 :D. I've just played the games so I am now on 970 - so close! I should be able to redeem next week now, that's three times now.

There are a couple of new 5 point videos on Maxi. I'm waiting impatiently for some points to be added on there as they will take me to redeem. I only need 250 more points and I know I have about 500 that need adding. Hurry up Maxi!!

Elysia - thanks for the free Funky Pigeon code. I have ordered a special 60th birthday card for my lovely colleague.

I suppose I should really get dressed at some point. PJs are so comfy though!
    Making money for Christmas 2012!
  • Morning all, I have flu at the moment (great timing as always) screened out of every survey so far today. Will do my sony panel and s&s panel and s&s barcodes/receipts which will take me to around £17 today and see if I can organise what is left to buy for Christmas.

Sorted a few swaps yesterday so should have a few more toys sorted for dd, thanks for keeping an eye out for the car legend I think I have managed to sort out a swap to cover it now :)

What was that paypal/ebay offer about the paypal fees again if anyone remembers? Was it sell over £30 keep it in your account and spend the £30 through paypal to get your fees back? Just thinking that I have around £4 in fees that could be reimbursed so far (and whatever items sell this weekend) and with the funkypigeon free card makes it te perfect opportunity to turn my paypal balance into vouchers by ordering free card and just paying for the voucher with my balance. Does anyone follow lol.

Emma, I'm not sure to be honest with presents I find the men in the family a right pain to buy for except hubby. My grandad is getting a digital photo frame with pictures of our family in it (Tesco bargain) as we never know what to get him, probably whisky and toffee for Mum's OH, no idea about my older brother, maybe a dvd of some sort, younger brother (15) again no idea he is a gadgety kinda guy.

Perhaps it is worth making the call to the people that are hard to buy for and ask them what they would like, or in the case of the boys what sorts of things they are into. I agree cash isn't the best idea if they wont see the benefit. Perhaps you could offer to take them somewhere as a treat instead o a present, bowling/cinema/meal/theme park?

Hope everythings ok with you and your family Rufus x

Thanks for the nudge Nicky, shall have a look and my spud shillings lol

Have a good day Rufus - try and take it easy for a bit, you've had a rough week or two.

Emma - I can understand what you mean about the boys - they are really hard to buy for, I know, I have two nephews. Do they have phones? Perhaps getting them some top up vouchers, or if they haven't you could get them a cheap one. They do some under a tenner now. That way they could ring their dad when they wanted too. Do they have a xbox? - perhaps some Live credit (Is that what it is? where they can play online?)

My sister (I'm ashamed to say) is a bit like your SIL, trouble is, my niece's dad isn't much better. :(

Michelle - Welcome home to Murphy. Have a great day. :D Please post us some pics. Oohh I feel some pet related reviews coming on :)

Legend - You're only trying to catch me up aren't you? :rotfl: I wonder if I can get my next one before Christmas???

Right - I'm off out this morning, so nothing for me money making yet. OH is insisting I get out and make the most of the nice weather while the sun shines. I've put my foot down, and said I want to be home at lunchtime, so I can get listing my mountain of ebay items.

I still have a non payer from over three weeks ago.

Have a good morning everyone - see you later on.
