Am hoping that you lovely computer literate people ill be abel to advise me on getting a new laptop...I currently have an HP Pavillion Entertainment Notebook PC dv1000 which is in the process of dying (keeps switching off & also none of the plugs for cable input work so cant use printer or download pics with camera etc) and having investigated it will cost about £300 to fix...bearing in mind that I can get a new one for £500 it seems false economy to fix it but know nothing about computers...basically I want one that has sim memory, dvd rw, wireless & windows xp bt unsure which one to get - want to spend as little as poss but without it being incredible slow. Also anyone know of a warranty that you can pruchase that is reasonable & not like the ones at PC world etc that cost a bomb...Any ideas? All advice gratefully received as know when I go to buy they'll bamboozle me with intelligent sounding stuff and I'll prob end up getting ripped off...again!
Thanks

are you sure it's not a software problem - laptops should last longer than 2 yearsEver get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0

Hi
If you can hold of a repair manual you could probably get a replacement fan off Ebay.0
