shower dripping! GRRRRRRRR

my overhead shower drips constantly, it has a single knob to turn it on/off and control temperature, and even closing it as tight as i can, it still drips!! any ideas? Its driving me nuts :mad::mad::mad:

    obviously its not shutting off completely, do you know what make it is? You may be able to buy replacement parts or take it apart for a clean.

    Its a hudson reed, i had it fitted 5 years ago by my plumber, and have already phoned hudson reed once for a replacement parts kit to replace the washers, I'm just thankful HR have 5/10 year guarantee (cant remember which)

    It.s probably limescale in the innards, particularly if your design of valve has the ceramic rotating discs for the hot and cold inlets. The solution is to remove the valves and put them in a small jar with some domestic limescale remover(Viakal or silmilar).work the valves open and shut a few times, after 15 mins they will all be lovely and clean and shiny and ready to be put back. I have to do mine every 6 months and I keep a spare set of valves so I can just swap them round and then clean up the used set for the next time.
