Memory Watcher - Spyware

Have tried just tried safe boot (with f8 key). Ran Xoft, CCleaner and Spybot. When I rebooted (switched off PC for about 1 min each time) the dreaded files came back again within minutes.
Have just installed HJT (as per instructions in Browntoas sticky) and have ran a scan and saved log. Here is the output from that log:-

Hopefully that means more to you guys than me !
Thanks again for your help on this.....
TIA,
Mr_F.0 -
The XoftSpy scan results tell you all you need to know.
This is the key where the infection supposedly lies:HKEY_USERS\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\ext\stats\!!36ecaf82-3300-8f84-092e-aff36d6c7040}\iexplore
If you look at the CLSID I've highlighted in bold and then google it, you'll see it's related to WinHTTrack. Which is a program you have installed.
XoftSpy is well known for it's false positives as a goad to purchase the software.
I hope that puts your mind at rest.0 -
A very big THANK YOU to all you guys(/girls ?) that helped me on this one !!!!
Finally resolved !!!!!
I assume the 'false positive' you refer to Alfonso means that Xoft is reporting things unneccessarily and as such WinHTT would be safe ????
However, I am very anally retentive with things like that so to be ultra safe I have uninstalled WinHTT (only ever used it once anyway), have checked Program Files is clear of it and have ran Registry Mechanic to clean up any registry problems.
Then ran Xoft (to remove the existing 3 "Memory Watcher" files) and rebooted.
Hurray, hurray (hope I am not shouting too early !) but it appears to have gone (which logically you would have expected it to as you say you CAN trace it back to WinHTT in Google - but I had given up on logic half way through a laborious day yesterday).
Once again - BIG THANKS to everyone. Hope I can return the favour one day !
Cheers from an elated Mr_F.0 -
By all accounts, WinHTT appears to be a perfectly legitimate program.
It's XoftSpy I'd be uninstalling0
