  • Walk away - if he is this manipulative now then think of all the problems you might face in the future.

Could you put your things into storage and stay with friends / family / travel lodge for a short period thus allowing you time to source a new property? Storage is not as expensive as you believe it to be.

Pulling out may prompt him to offer storage to save having a void period.

    Good luck

There is no longer any legal concept as 'furnished let'. There is only general tenancy law (extensive) and specific laws relating to contents (eg electrical or fire safety related). Whether a property is advertised as furnished or unfurnished is irrelevant.

So are you saying that any furnishings left in a property and included in the let, don't have to be of a certain standard in terms of fire safety?

So I can go to a local auction, buy all the tat left over at £20 beause no one wants its, and furnish my rental property?!!!! :T
