Tech guys

Has anybody has dealings with these people? I am having an absolute nightmare trying to get my computer repaired under an extended warranty that I pay monthly. I first reported it on 18th November 2010 it was finally collected for repair on 2nd December 2010 and I am still waiting. It will be due for like for like replacement if not returned repaired by 30th December 2010 but they are now saying I did not report it until 23rd November do its not due for replacement until 7th January 2011. I have written 3 letters of complaint and seem to be getting no further on any help would be appreciated

  • Was you given a reference number (Either a Case Reference or a Job Reference) when you reported the fault on 18/11/2010? If you don't It's just your word against theirs.

If you did genuinely report the fault then all you can do is hassle them 24/7 or maybe go into the store you purchased the computer from and speak to the manager about it.

If you go into a store, they can look up your contact on a system called Myriad. That has dates and details of every call.

The clock starts ticking when the item is picked up from you, and finishes when they have repaired the item. Apparently, then can then take as long as they bloody well like to send it back to you, lose it a couple of times and you can't do a thing. Or so they've told me.
    Squirrel!
If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

Do a quick forum search on here, usual practice is for them to be slow, incopetent and you to get your machine back in a much worse condition than you started with.

Certainly expect them to lose/trash any data on your hard drive.

Beyond that other likely outcomes are they misslay the machine (actually quite good as you stand a better chance of getting a working replacement)

Or you get it back with drivers incorrectly installed and faulty hardware unremedied.

there was clear warning out there on the internet -what was wrong with it in the first place?
